RIV의 약자의 뜻은 아래와 같다.
RIV = resource indicator value
그리고 스펙 관점에서 해석하면 NR에서 RIV란 아래와 같이 정의된다.

PRB의 offset과 연속된 RB를 나타낸다. 즉, 주파수축에서 resource 의 위치를 나타내는 값이다.
(SLIV 는 시간축에서 resource(symbol)의 위치와 길이를 알려주었다면, RIV는 주파수축에서의 위치를 나타내는 값이다. 이렇게 줄이는 의미는 IE를 줄이기 위함인가 잘모르겠다.)
어쨋든 RIV는 주파수축에서의 위치와 길이를 아래와 같이 복잡한 수식을 통해 알아낼 수 있다.
알고보면 간단한 수식이지만, 이마저도 매번 계산할 수 없으니 아래 사이트를 이용하면 편리하다.
